Mission Statement

Bethel AG exists as a bridge to the community to reach people and help them become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Our mission as a church can be summarized by just one word: GO!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)

Our Commitment

We won’t compromise on the truth we believe, but we will never share the truth in a condemning way.

Our Vision

We are committed to making disciples in Newark, in Essex County, around the US, and around the world as God directs us.

Our Core Values

Worship – After we have made the decision to follow God, we are called to worship Him. We will not be happy if we just go through the motions of being in church. (Ps. 34:3; Psalm 122:1)

Evangelism – Jesus gave us the command to GO and make disciples. God’s will is for everyone to be saved and follow him, but that cannot happen if we don’t do our part. (Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15; Psalms 2:8)

Community – Community is the place you both connect to God and others and learn from them. This kind of community happens in Small Groups where discipleship truly takes place. (Acts 2:42-47, 1 Cor. 12:4-7, John 13:34-35)

Discipleship – As a believer in Christ, we are called to grow in our relationship with Him every day. Our goal is to provide events, classes, and groups that keep us growing together. (Ephesians 4:12b-13)

Ministry – We believe that everyone in the body of Christ has a role to play in the local church. Many hands make light work and we hope all of us can work together to see God’s family grow. (Ephesians 4:12a)
